Charles “Chuck” David Goetz, age 83, of Cleveland, passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2019.
Mr. Goetz was born on October 1, 1936, in Erie, Pennsylvania, to the late Clifford and Rose Catherine Keller Goetz. He was a retired photographer and a member of Nacoochee United Methodist Church. Charles was a veteran of the United States Navy, a member of the White County Veteran’s Society, as well as the American Legion, where he served as Legionnaire of the Year for ePost 2100 as well as Treasurer and Executive Officer, and was also a member of the Lions Club. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Claybaugh.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Betty Barrett Goetz, Cleveland; daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and Lance Steenson, Phoenix, Arizona, and Veronica and Chris McCutcheon, Frankfort, Kentucky; daughters, Gayle Goetz, Cleveland, and Karen Kuhner, Frankfort, Kentucky; son, Charles D. Goetz, Jr., McDonough, Georgia; grandchildren, Christopher Orcutt, Shannon McCutcheon, Michael Kuhner, Meagan McGlynn, Gina Steenson, Joseph Steenson; great-grandchild, Hailey McGlynn; sister, Mary Lawhon, Tallahassee, FL; nephew and wife, David and Wendy Claybaugh, Jacksonville, FL.
Funeral services are scheduled for 3:30 P.M. Sunday, December 22, 2019 at Nacoochee United Methodist Church. The Rev. Keith Windmiller will officiate. Interment will follow at Decatur City Cemetery on Monday, December 23, 2019 at 11:30 A.M.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 3:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.

Joseph Laurens Glover, age 80, of Sautee, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by people who loved him, on Monday, November 25, 2019.
Mr. Glover was born on November 8, 1939, in Savannah, Georgia, to the late Mary and Joseph Glover. He served in the United States Marine Corp after which he received a Mechanical Engineering degree from Georgia Tech. He was in charge of Product Design and Development for Great Dane Trailers until his retirement. Joseph was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Emily Glover; son, Jason Glover; 3 grandchildren; and 4 sisters.
Private services will be held at a later date.
The family respectfully ask that in lieu of flowers a donation to St. Paul’s Building Fund be considered – 1243 Hulsey Rd. Cleveland, GA 30528.

Geraldine Palmer Black: Obituary

Geraldine Palmer Black, age 89, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on November 28, 2019.
Geraldine was born October 31, 1930 in White County to the late Hershel and Sylvia Westmoreland Palmer. Geraldine was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Black and her only son, Gary Black of Cleveland; also one sister, Gertrude “Trudy” Saxon, three brothers, Ray Palmer, Nick Palmer and Ross Palmer all of Cleveland.
Geraldine was a lifelong resident of White County and was a founding and devoted member of Mt. Yonah Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir for many years. She loved the Lord and shared His love with all she came in contact with. Geraldine was an excellent cook and most enjoyed spending time with her family. She was lovingly referred to as “Nanny” by her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Geraldine retired from Talon and later worked at Babyland General for several years.
Survivors include her, daughter-in-law, Stacy McDowell Black, Cleveland; grandchildren, Melissa “Missy” Black Pulliam, Milledgeville; Christopher J. Black, Cleveland; Rachel Black Hughes (Beau), Gainesville; Sara J. Black, Duluth; great grandchildren, Alex Pulliam, Warner Robbins, GA; Taylor Pulliam, Milledgeville, GA; sister, Mary Helen Vaughan, Gainesville; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She also leaves behind many other family members that will miss her dearly.
Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 PM, Sunday, December 8, 2019 at Mt. Yonah Baptist Church. The Rev. Doug Merck will officiate. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 2:30 PM Sunday, December 8, 2019 at the funeral home.

Mr. Copp was born on February 12, 1965, in Cumming, Georgia, to Albert and Lillie Mae Payne Copp. He was a former dump truck driver for Charles Black Construction and a member of Community Chapel Church. Jerry was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jim and Margaret Arnold, and Major and Pauline Payne.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Katie and Wesley Vandiver, Helen; parents, Albert and Lillie Mae Copp, Cleveland; brother and sister-in-law, Tim and Cecilia Copp, Cleveland; sister and brother-in-law, Stephanie and Alan Rogers, Roswell; mother to his daughter, Renee Copp; 1 special granddaughter soon-to-be; several uncles, aunts, nieces, and nephews also survive.

Mr. Hulsey was born on July 13, 1942, in Cleveland, Georgia, to the late Brookton and Pauline Sosebee Hulsey. He was a self-employed cabinet maker and a 14-year veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Vietnam War. Lance was also a member of the VFW. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Jeanne Loggins Hulsey; brothers, Donald Hulsey, Larry Hulsey, and Lynn Hulsey; great-grandson, Isaiah Nance Pea.
Survivors include his daughter, Jessica Patterson, Cleveland; daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie Pasterak and Paul Pasterak, Euharlee, GA, and Stephanie and Chris Griffin, Cleveland; brother, Reginald “Dane” Hulsey; 6 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Warwick was born in White County to the late Jesse and Fannie Lou Truelove Warwick. In addition to parents, Mr. Warwick was also preceded in death by sister, Vivian Stover. He was a retired meat cutter and a member of Mt. View Baptist Church.

Terry “Babe” Kimbrell, age 56, of Cleveland, passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2019.
Mr. Kimbrell was born on March 24, 1963, in Atlanta, Georgia, to Yvonne Kimbrell and the late, Jere Kimbrell. Babe was the owner and operator of Kimbrell’s Used Auto Parts and was known and loved by many. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Barry “Wolf” Kimbrell.
Survivors include his wife, April Kimbrell, Cleveland; daughter, Katie Lane Kimbrell, Cleveland; grandson, Roper Lane Armour, Cleveland; mother, Yvonne Kimbrell, Cleveland; brother and sister-in-law, Jerry “Tootler” and Rhonda Kimbrell, Cleveland; mother-in-law, Ann Thomas, Gainesville; brother-in-law, Sean Thomas, Talmo; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Mr. Kinsey was born October 26, 1931 in Cleveland to the late Lester and Elzoria McAllister Kinsey. Homer was a lifelong resident of White County where he worked as a mechanic and cattle farmer. He was a Veteran of the United States Army having served in the Korean War. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Evelyn Chosewood and brother, David Kinsey.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Annie Bulgin Kinsey, Cleveland; son and fiancé, James Larry Kinsey and Dale Adams; daughter and son-in-law, Sandra Kinsey Gamerl and Dave Gamerl; son and fiancé, Gary Douglas Kinsey and Dana Ellis, all of Cleveland; grandson, David Lee Kinsey; sister Vera Mae Shelnut, Cornelia; sister and brother-in-law, Willie Mae and Thomas Hooper, Demorest; brothers and sisters-in-law, Waymon and Kathy Kinsey; Roy Lee Kinsey and Louise Kinsey, Gainesville; brother-in-law, Grady Chosewood, Turnerville; a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Elmer James Hunt, age 75, of Cleveland, passed away on November 12, 2019.
Mr. Hunt was born on June 25, 1944, in White County, to the late Tommy and Ruby Nelson Hunt. He was a heavy equipment operator for 46 years and retired from Allied Paving. He was also a member of Mt. View Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Elmer was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Mae Hunt; brothers, Claude Hunt and Ronnie Hunt.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Patricia Hunt, Cleveland; son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Bobbie Hunt, Cleveland; granddaughter, Morgan Hunt; brothers, Ray Hunt, Bobby Hunt (Joan), and Alex Hunt.
