Kenneth Calvin “Kenny” Autry, age 56, of Cleveland, passed away Monday, July 9, 2018.

Mr. Autry was born August 12, 1961 in Demorest, GA to Kenneth C. Autry and the late Laura Jewel Welborn Autry. Kenny was an Independent Assurance Engineer for the Georgia Department of Transportation and was a member of Fairfield Baptist Church. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his grandparents JB and Vassie Welborn and Toy and Clara Autry.

Survivors include his wife, Shelia Autry, Cleveland; father, Kenneth Autry, Cleveland; brother, Gary Welborn, Cleveland; uncles and aunts, Richard and Pat Welborn, Donald and Jean Welborn, Polly Davis, Lola and Herman Shelnut, and Brenda and Gwendol Bulgin; mother in law, Bertha Ingram; brother in law, Ricky Allen; step-brothers and sisters in law, Steve and Kathleen Baugh and Roger and Wanda Baugh; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Fairfield Baptist Church. The Rev. Ben Tanner, the Rev. Keith Allison and the Rev. Milton Harris will officiate. Interment will follow at Fairfield Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Phillip Robinson officiating.

Mr. Samuel E. Bradley Jr., age 80, of Cleveland, passed away Thursday, June 28, 2018.

Mr. Bradley was born on May 31, 1938 in Hazlehurst, Mississippi to the late Samuel E. Bradley Sr. and Elsie Wade Bradley. Sam grew up in Hattiesburg, Ms., where he attended Hattiesburg High School and the University of Southern Mississippi. He was in the Army Reserves and began his career in Finance and Banking. Sam and family moved to Marietta, Ga. in 1972 where he continued his career. He was an avid Atlanta Falcons fan holding season tickets for over 34 years. He also had a love for golf and was a member of the Marietta Country Club and Innsbruck Golf Club. In 2001 after retiring Sam and his wife Jean moved to Cleveland, Ga. He loved spending time with his family and friends

Survivors include his Wife Jean Bradley, Cleveland; son, Samuel E. Bradley III, Marietta; daughter and son-in-law, E. Carol Bradley Ezekiel and Robert O. Ezekiel, Charleston, SC. Survivors also include his grandchildren, Zach Mount, Kayla Bradley, Bryson Bradley, Landon Bradley, Stella Ezekiel and Aedan Ezekiel.

A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, July 7, 2018 at 11:30 AM at Nacoochee Presbyterian Church. Pastor Robert Prim will officiate.

Mrs. Gladys Annie Wehunt, age 83, of Cleveland, peacefully passed away at her residence on June 23, 2018. She was born on March 22, 1935 at her home in Union County to the late Arch and Julia Wilkins Seabolt, living in Union and Lumpkin County before moving to Cleveland. For years, she was an Inspector at the Talon zipper plant in Cleveland. Mrs. Gladys loved gardening, traveling, and most of all her family and friends. She was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her Husbands Jack Winkler and Payton (P.J) Wehunt as well as her Brother J.D Seabolt.

Survivors include her Daughters Jackie (Ricky) Underwood of Cleveland, Sandy (David) Sorrow of Dahlonega, Marie (Clinton) Waters of Dahlonega, Cunnie (Judd) Grizzle of Dahlonega, her Step-Son Jimmy (Janie) Wehunt of McDonough, her Grandson Clint Waters, her Sisters Linda (Ronald) Connery of Altamonte Springs, FL, Callie Copelan of Mt. Airy, Thelma (Jerry) Lance of Cleveland, Hilda Fain of Helen, and her Brother Fletcher (Frances) Seabolt of Hartwell. She is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.

The Family of Mrs. Wehunt would like to thank Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center for their compassion and attentive care during her time of illness.

Debra Louise Sanders, age 33 of Cleveland, passed away on Tuesday, June 19, 2018.

Mrs. Sanders was born on December 16, 1985, in San Francisco, California. She moved to Cleveland in 2014, from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Debra enjoyed astrology and worked as a restaurant server for Lucille’s Spa and Inn. She was preceded in death by her son, Oliver Sanders.

Survivors include her husband, Jason Wesley Sanders, Cleveland; son, Milo Zibutis, Lake Michigan, Indiana; sister, Nichole Iwone, Fort Lauderdale, FL; friends, Jessica and Luis, Cleveland.

Loretta “Lorie” Mae Tombrella, age 73 of Cleveland, Georgia passed away on June 6, 2018 at North East Georgia Medical Center following and extended illness.

Lorie was born on January 23, 1945 in Southfield, Michigan to the late Kenneth and Bernice Schave. She lived in Dade City, Florida for many years before buying land in North Georgia in 2010 and eventually moving here in April of this year. Before retiring she worked for Wellcraft as a seamstress.

Mrs. Lorie is survived by her loving husband, Joe Tombrella. Children; Ed Ducyminski (Ella Sencabaugh) of Bradenton, Florida.   Richard Richardson of Bradenton, Florida.   Angela Gaskins (Wayne) of Columbia, South Carolina.   Brother; Virgil Schave of Michigan.    Brother in law, Stan Tombrella, of Cleveland, Georgia.  She is also survived by many Grandchildren and a few Great Grandchildren.

Barrett Funeral Home of Cleveland announces the death of Mr. Gary Lee Cabe Sr., of Cleveland. Gary passed away peacefully Friday, May 25, 2018. Graveside services are scheduled for 1:00 pm, Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at Eastview Memorial Park in Knoxville, TN.

Gary was born in Knoxville, TN on February 11, 1951 to the late Gerald DeWitt Cabe and Virginia Lee Carroll Cabe and had lived in White County for the past eight years, moving from Culbert, Georgia. He was retired from the University of Georgia in Athens, where he had spent several years as a locksmith. Gary’s real passion, however was music, he was a professional musician, playing for such entertainers as David Houston and Jenny Pruitt as well as a host of other Grand Ole Opry performers.

Survivors include his daughter, Tennille Marie Dobbs (Brad) of Cleveland; son, Gary Lee Cabe Jr of Ila, GA; grandchildren, Chase, Grayson, Tanner, Charity and Dylan; great grandchildren, Benny, Marissa and Jazelyn.

Mary Ruth Roberts, age 90 of Gainesville, passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2018.

Mrs. Roberts was born January 30, 1928 in Bryson City, NC to the late Lillie Howard Cantrell and Fred Cantrell. She worked for Turner Chicken Farm and was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Terrell Roberts, daughter, Vickie Kay Cross, brothers, Clyde Cantrell, David Cantrell and Floyd “Bud” Cantrell.

Survivors include her daughter, Doris Jean Gilstrap, Gainesville; daughter and son in law, Sylvia and Michael Eminger, Dahlonega; son and daughter in law, Ronnie and Katy Roberts, Dahlonega; 6 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Algene Meaders Pardue, age 83 of Cleveland, passed away on Sunday, May 20, 2018.

Mrs. Pardue was born on October 18, 1934, in White County, to the late L.Q. and Hattie Mae Welchel Meaders. She was retired from the White County School System, where she worked as a librarian. She also served as the librarian at Truett McConnell College for several years. Algene was a member of Mossy Creek United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Vinson Pardue, Jr.; sisters, Ina Pardue and Reba Palmer.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Kaye and Terry Whitworth, Gainesville; son and daughter-in-law, Kent and Mary Pardue, Cleveland; brother and sister-in-law, Welchel and Eunice Meaders, Cleveland; sister, Mary Long, Cleveland; sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Bobby Ferguson, Cornelia; grandchildren, Candace and Joel Brown and Brooke and Corey Snyder; great grandchildren, Olivia, Riley, Tanner, Eli and Scarlett; special friend, Inez Parks; a number of nieces and nephew and additional relatives also survive.

Sidney William Shortt, age 70, passed away peacefully at his home on May 17, 2018. Born in 1948 in Athens, Georgia, Sid was the son of William J. Shortt and Lois J. Shortt.  Sid graduated from South Habersham High School in 1966 and then attended West Georgia College. The highlight of Sid’s teenage years was becoming an Eagle Scout and he was very proud when his two grandsons later attained the rank of Eagle Scout.

After leaving West Georgia College, Sid purchased a 100 year old mansion and opened Headquarters, Inc, a boutique store in Carrollton, Georgia. In 1975, he opened the famous Maple Street Mansion with the best pizza around. He moved to Helen that same year and opened the Wurst Haus which was the first restaurant in Bavarian Helen. He successfully operated the Wurst Haus until it burned in 2006.

Sid married Sherry Drummond Shortt on November 20, 1991, and she was the love of his life. They traveled the world together and spent 27 glorious years with each other. Sid was a loyal and passionate fan of The Rolling Stones, a rare coin collector and an avid protector of the environment. He was happiest at his home in the woods with his many birdfeeders. He always loved his cats and was never without one for long.

Survivors include Sid’s wife, Sherry Drummond Shortt, his sister, Sylvia Shortt, step children Bill Pinkerton (Lisa) and Marni Flinn (Michael), six grandchildren, Sara, Ashley and Lauren Pinkerton and Katy, Justin and Logan Flinn and one niece, Marisol Vazquez and 3 caregivers Jill Fowler, Nikki Jones and Jennifer Whisnant.

The celebration of his life will be on Wednesday, May 30 at Cleveland Funeral Home in Cleveland, Georgia. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm with the service following at 1:00 pm at the funeral home.

Mr. Billy Rodney Lee, age 89 of Turner’s Corner. Mr. Lee passed away Saturday, May 5, 2018. Memorial services are scheduled for 1:00pm, Saturday, May 12, 2018 in the chapel of Barrett Funeral Home with Rev. Fred Whitley and Rev. Wayne Turk officiating.

Mr. Lee was born in Atlanta, Georgia on December 30, 1928 to the late Maxwell Lee and Nellie Bennett Lee. He worked for some 35 years with Lockheed Martin Corporation and had spent most of his adult life in Turners Corner. He is preceded in death by his son, Lynn Lee.

Larry David Kelley, age 60 of Cleveland, passed away on Thursday, May 3, 2018.

Mr. Kelley was born on July 6, 1957, in Demorest, Georgia, to Homer and Evelyn Turner Kelley. Larry managed numerous local grocery stores and most recently managed Cleveland IGA. He loved the fellowship he had with all of his customers. Larry loved his grandchildren dearly and most of all, he loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was an avid UGA fan and a member of County Line Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Denise Kelley, Cleveland; son and daughter-in-law, Nick and Ginny Kelley, Cleveland; daughter and son-in-law, April and Arvo Bowen, Cleveland; grandchildren, Blake Kelley, Bailey Kelley, and Brody Kelley, all of Cleveland; parents, Homer and Evelyn Kelley, Cleveland; brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Debbie Kelley, Dahlonega; brother, Terry Kelley, Cleveland; sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Billy Reed, Gainesville; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Cleveland Funeral Home announced that William “Bill” Joseph Morris passed away on Monday, April 30, 2018 after battling an extended illness for some time.

Bill was born on July 7, 1927 to the late Albert Clayton Morris and Lotus Hulsey in Laurel, Mississippi. After high school, Bill served his country for some time in both the Navy and the US Air Force before returning to Mississippi to obtain a College Degree from Mississippi State University as a Mechanical Engineer.  He used these skills for many years while he worked as a Mechanical Engineer for the federal government before moving to Cleveland in 1979. Bill was a very active member in the Cleveland community where he was a member on Cleveland United Methodist Church and at one point served as a President for the White County Kiwanis Club.

In addition to both parents, Bill is preceded in death by his loving wife, June Morris; Brother, Harold Morris; and Sister, Frances Grace.

He is survived by brothers, David (Veta) Morris of Lake City, Florida; Albert (Jessie) Morris of Alachua, Florida; and James (Joyce) Morris of Graniteville, South Carolina. Sisters, Martha (Albert) Cassidy of Cross City, Florida; and Patricia (Chuck) Payne of Utica, Michigan.  Bill is also survived by two very special long time friends, Frank and Linda Russell of Titusville, Florida. In addition, Bill is survived by a host of nieces and nephews that he cared for deeply.

Steve Arthur Allen, age 63 of Cleveland, passed away on Friday, April 27, 2018.

Mr. Allen was born on February 8, 1955, in White County, to the late Arthur Esco and Lola Mae Sosebee Allen. He was retired from General Motors and worked as a cattle farmer. Steve was a member of Blue Creek Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ronnie Allen.
