Road repair will cause detour on Hwy 17/75 Monday
News June 15, 2018
HELEN — Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) maintenance crews out of the Cleveland area office will detour drivers on State Route 17/75 Monday morning to install a new drainage structure.
The detour route will be in place between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m.
During the recent flash flood, the pipe was damaged. GDOT is taking this opportunity to replace and upsize the pipe. The location of this repair is near the Top of Georgia Airstream Park, the closest milepost to the work is milepost 11.4.
The detour route will guide traffic around this repair work by way of SR 180 to SR 348 then to SR 75 Alternate. This detour will position motorists back on SR 17/75. Tractor trailers will be directed by flagging operators to SR 11 instead of SR 348.
Please drive alert as our workers will be in the lanes directing traffic.
