Sherry Michelle Oliver, age 42 of Lula, passed away on Monday, June 17, 2019 surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Oliver was born on September 6, 1976 in Hall County. She was a devoted loving wife and mother and was a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Larry and Shirley Hulsey and her brother Rusty Hulsey.

She is survived by her husband of 24 years Mark Oliver, son and daughter-in-law Dylan and Marybeth Oliver, son Dawson Oliver, sister April Satterfield, and brothers Corey Hulsey and Tim Hulsey.

The family extends their sincere appreciation to her caregivers Debbie Rogers and Misty Satterfield along with Allie Martin with Homestead Hospice, and the Longstreet Cancer Center staff.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Thursday, June 20, 2019 at Holly Springs Baptist Church. The Rev. Scott Strickland, Rev. Josh Chatham and Rev. Kyle Savage will officiate. Interment will follow at Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. W.A Jenkins officiating.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Wednesday.

Cleveland Funeral Home & Cremation Services announces that Gary Lamar Lamb, 61 of Cleveland, Georgia passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2019. A Celebration of Life will be held at Shoal Creek Baptist Church from 4pm – 6pm on Thursday, June 27, 2019. Inurnment will be held later at Milford Baptist Church in Marietta.

Gary was born in Dallas, Georgia on August 20, 1957 to the late William Eugene Lamb Sr. and the late Mamie Lee White. Gary moved from Cobb County to Cleveland around 2006 were he worked as a self employed painter on mostly buildings, both commercial and residential. He was always very proud of his beautiful work and attention to detail.

He is Survived by his children; Zack (Tasha) Lamb of Cleveland, Tabitha Lamb of Cleveland, Shana Gibbs of Cleveland, Gary Lamb Jr. of Canton, and Tasha (Dustin) Fowler of Cleveland. Stepchildren; Aaron Byers Jr of Murrayville and Amy Hartzog of Aiken, South Carolina. Siblings; Fred “Steve” (Judy) Green, Mike (Sheila) Green, Sherry Hagemann, and Gene Lamb. Grandchildren; Aaron Byers III, Memphis Gibbs, Rylynn Gibbs, Bryson Lamb, and Karmyn Lamb.

Mrs. Sue Jarrard, age 70, of Dahlonega, passed away Monday, February 4, 2019.

Sue was born in Lumpkin County to the late Mack and Lillie Dockery Albertson. She was a private caregiver and was preceded in death by husband, Troy Jarrard. Sue will be remembered for a woman who loved her family and had a giving and caring spirit.

Survivors include companion of 12 years, Eddie Helton, Dahlonega; daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Jason Ravan, Cleveland; grandchildren, Travis Partin and Kyle Ravan; sister and brother-in-law, Geneva and Lawrence Pilgrim, Cleveland; nieces and nephews-in-law, Amanda and Chase Thomas and Megan and John Broadway, Cleveland; and nephew and niece-in-law, Scott and Melissa Painter, Eastanollee.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Sunday, February 10, 2019 from 3-5 P.M. at the funeral home.

Charles Joseph Perrault

Cleveland Funeral Home announces the death of Charles Joseph Perrault, age 80 of Cleveland, Georgia. Mr. Perrault passed away on January 25, 2019 at his residence.

Charles was born on August 23, 1938 in Lawrence, Massachusetts to the late Armand J. Perrault and the late Runa Beaudoin Perrault.

Mr. Perrault served in The United States Navy from 1957 and was honorably discharged in March of 1977.  In the Navy, he received many awards from the Good Conduct Award, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal for Cuban Operation, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.  Charles also received his BBA in business from The University of North Florida in Jacksonville.  At the age of 80, Charles enjoyed his days on his X Box or Play Station strategizing his war games and playing a little video golf.  Charles was also known to fly the friendly skies with his remote-controlled airplane.  Loyal to his parish, Charles was a devout member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church where he spent many years producing the church newsletters for all the parishioners to enjoy.

He is survived by his sister Laurice E. Parrott of Cleveland, GA, niece Bobbie and Ryan Byers of Cleveland, GA and a nephew Charles Parrott of Marietta, GA.

Services for Mr. Perrault will be held at a later date, where his remains will be placed in the columbarium at St. Paul’s Catholic Church.

Mrs. Myers was born in Memphis, Tennessee, to the late Adam Jett and Virginia Wagner Jett. She was preceded in death by husband, Grady Joseph Stell; and sister, Virginia Jett.

He was preceded in death by his father Tom Wills.

Mr. Wills is survived by his wife Renee Wills, his mother Cynthia Wills and his children Johnathan Wills, Ansley Mathis, Nicole Arrowood, Charlie Wills, Sadie Wills, Jeffrey Burgess, Eli Gerrells, and Tre McGhee. He is also survived by his two granddaughters Leah Arrowood and Ava Arrowood.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Mossy Creek United Methodist Church with the Rev. Don Landon and Rev. Billy Barrs officiating. Interment will follow at the Mossy Creek United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Gary Leon Black, age 70, passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center with his loving family by his side.

He was born and raised in Cleveland, Ga and was the only son of Geraldine and Leon Black. He loved his hometown so much that he chose to raise his 4 children here as well. He was well known around the community for being a caring man who loved and helped everyone he met.

After graduating from the University of Georgia, he had a long and meaningful career of working for the Georgia Department of Corrections where he guided and mentored many people to a better life.  His generosity, love, and positivity will truly be missed by all who knew him.  He was a shining light of hope and love in a dark world, truly one-of-a-kind.  As a man of true faith, his family is confident he is rejoicing in heaven with our Lord and Savior.

He is preceded in death by his father, Leon Black.

He is survived by his wife, Stacy McDowell Black, his children, Missy Black (Pulliam), Chris Black, Rachel Black, and Sara Black, his mother Geraldine Black and his grandchildren, Alex Pulliam, and Taylor Pulliam.

A Memorial service will be held at 2pm Saturday, January 12, 2019 at the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home.

Dudley Russell Jones, 1952-2018. D. Russell Jones passed away at home on December 23, 2018 in Cleveland, Georgia.

He was born in Birmingham, Alabama, son of the late Dudley W. and Katie L. Jones. He joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 1972 and served honorably in the Vietnam theater. After graduating from Mississippi State University with a degree in horticulture, Russell worked in the field of viticulture in Starkville. There he helped create the first commercially produced wine in Mississippi made with grapes from that state. In the early 1980’s Russell moved to Northeast Georgia where he helped establish the vineyards of Habersham Winery, and worked as winemaker there as well. He was an avid football fan, being particularly passionate about the Auburn Tigers and the White County Warriors. He loved to be outside working in the yard, he loved fishing and taking canoe trips on the Chattahoochee River, but his greatest joy was his family.

Russell is survived by his wife of 29 years Mary Ruth Jones, and their 5 children, Robert W. Jones, (Victoria Gruenwald) of Dacula, Georgia, Patrick R. Jones of Acworth, Georgia, Katie R. Jones of Athens, Georgia, Stephen T. Jones of Kennesaw, Georgia and Isabella R. Jones of Cleveland, Georgia. He was the proud “Poppy” of 4 grandchildren: Callie, Vera, Violet and Forrest. He is also survived by a nephew, Dallas McRae, (Emmie Olivecrona) of Orlando, Florida, a niece, Paige, (Jimmy), and great-niece Erin Crowley of San Mateo, California. Russell was preceded in death by an infant brother and his sister, Lynda “L.J.” McRae.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 2:00 pm at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Cleveland, Georgia, with Father Fabio A. Alvarez Posada officiating. Following the service, friends and family are invited to remember and celebrate the life of Russell Jones at a reception to be held at the Sautee Nacoochee Community Center in Sautee, Georgia.

Mrs. Frankie “Jimmie” Turner, age 96 of Cleveland, passed away on Friday, December 21, 2018 surrounded by her loving family.

“Mama Turner” was born July 27, 1922 in Towns County to the late Loyd McKinney and Maude Presley McKinney. She was the oldest living member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Otis James Turner and her sisters Lougene Garrett, Ethel England, and Helen Adkins.

Survivors include her sons and daughters in law James and Fanchion Turner and Jarrell and Bonita Turner; her daughters and sons in law Joyce and Harlen Robinson, Janice Sutton, Juliette and Jr. York, all of Cleveland, JoAnne and Marvin Martin, Dahlonega. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M Sunday, December 23, 2018 at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church with the Rev. Phillip Robinson, Rev. Jack Pilcher, and Rev. Keith York officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Ronnie Dockery and Rev. Wayne Turk officiating.

Mrs. Skelton is survived by her husband Raymond Skelton of Cleveland; her daughters Diane Gragg of Cleveland, Doris (Larry) Atkins of Cleveland, and Denise (Steve) Gilbert of Lula. She is also survived by her brother Ray (Marilyn) Dyer of Lewisburg, Ohio and her grandchildren Rev. Anthony Tatum, Lance Tatum, Kayla Ashworth, Kimberly Atkins, Cody Lowe, and Walker Gilbert.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M Friday, December 21, 2018 at Union Grove Congregational Holiness Church with the Rev. Paul Flynn, Rev. Anthony Tatum, and Rev. Gary Heffner officiating. Interment will follow at Zion Interdenominational Church Cemetery.

Claude Oscar Warwick, age 80 of Gainesville, passed away Saturday, December 15, 2018.

Mr. Warwick was born March 26, 1938 in White County to the late Oscar Bryan Warwick and Ivory Jackson Warwick. Mr. Warwick was a retired auto mechanic. In addition to his parents and stepmother Marie Brown Warwick, he was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Cleveland, daughter, Lisa Williamson, brothers, Willie Warwick and George Warwick.

Survivors include his granddaughter and husband, Nikki Williamson Nulisch and Judson Nulisch, Gainesville; son-in-law Tim Williamson, Gainesville; sisters, Patricia Weidner, Dahlonega; Evelyn Freeman, Cornelia; Brenda Reed, Cleveland; brother, Edward Warwick, Smyrna.
