CLEVELAND, Ga. — Captain Rick Kelley said White County deputies responded to a report of child abuse by executing a search warrant  at 152 Rocket Drive on Feb. 7 and arrested 44-year-old Scott Shelby of Cleveland.

Kelley said there were four children in the home ranging in ages from 10-15 years old. The investigation shows a history of abuse. Shelby is charged with thre counts of cruelty to children in the first degree and one case of aggravated assault.

No bond had been set for Shelby at this time. The case is ongoing and Kelley said there could be additional charges.
