Barrett Funeral Home of Cleveland announces the death of Mr. Leslie Arthur Green, age 76 of Sautee. Les passed away Friday, August 30, 2019.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 am Saturday, September 14, 2019 in the funeral home chapel with interment to follow at Concord Baptist Church Cemetery.
Les was born on May 17, 1943 in Elizabeth, New Jersey to the late Arthur Green and Ann Galanti Green. He served with honor in the United States Army and later retired as the Southeast Regional Sales Manager for the Zaytran Corporation.
Les will be fondly remembered as a warm man who was straight forward but kind and always had a wealth of good jokes to tell, simply put ‘He loved life”, whether it was taking a long motorcycle trip or just simply being at home with his family.
In addition to his parents, Les is preceded in death by his grandson, Brian Green and his brother Robert Green.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Green of Sautee, daughter and son in law, Kathy and Matthew Stancil of Atlanta; son and daughter in law, Lee and Melendy Green of Norcross; brother and sister in law, Jonathan and Grace Green of Fort Lauderdale, FL; sister and brother in law, Jeanette and Jim Bryant of Sebastian, FL. Lee is also survived by his grandchildren, Adrian Nicole Bollinger as well as Peter, John and Paul Stancil.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, September 13, 2019 between the hours of 4:00pm and 7:00pm.

Mr. Pines was born on April 11, 1943, in Wilcox County, Georgia, to the late Harry Pines and Gladys Hobbs. He was the owner of 76 Service Station for many years and the current owner of Neighbor to Neighbor Construction. In addition to his parents, H.G. was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette Pines; sister, Diane Hice.
Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Janice and Rex Heyman, Lawrenceville, and Tracie and Mike Burns, Lawrenceville; son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Holly Pines, Grayson; grandchildren, Josh Heyman (Jana), Heath Heyman (Kristin), Sarah Lebaron, Dylan Pines, Dawson Pines, Harrison Burns; great grandchildren, Jaxon Heyman, Axel Heyman, Hendrix Heyman; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jacky and Susan Pines, Barnesville, and Johnny and Kathy Pines, Barnesville; beloved dachshund, Suzy; several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services are scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Monday, September 9, 2019 at the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Dennis Turner will officiate. Entombment will follow at Yonah View Memorial Gardens.

Catherine Lanell Coons, age 65 of Tavares, Florida and Cleveland Georgia, went home to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, July 20 2019.
Mrs. Coons was born September 12, 1953 in San Saba Texas to AC Grant and the late Hettie Grant. Lanell was strong in her faith, often spoke of her faith and was known for her works in helping others. She regularity attended Jesus-N-Jeans services during the summer season she and husband John spent in the Cleveland area for the past 20 years. She could often be found volunteering at Cleveland thrift stores on weekends. Lanell enjoyed RV travel with husband John and boating in Florida and in years past had traveled extensively around the United States. Lanell loved to entertain, loved her plants and gardens, loved her Lola dog and was outgoing and very active.
Survivors Include her husband John of 36 years, and Father AC Grant, Sister Lavon Perry, and Brother Lemore Grant of Brownwood, Texas. Numerous members of John’s family and extended Grant family members survive that were close to Lanell.
A Celebration of Life was held at The Paradise Valley Campground at 6 PM Wednesday, July 24 . Bobby Privette led the celebration with contribution from many Paradise owners and friends.
A funeral will be held at the Barrett Funeral Home in Cleveland, Georgia at 2PM Thursday July 25. The family will receive friends following the service to be conducted by Pastor Teddy Baker. Flowers will be accepted at the Funeral Home for the service.

Terry Wilson Thrift, age 57 of Helen, passed away Friday, June 28, 2019.
Mr. Thrift was born May 26, 1962 to late Robert and Dorothy Nix Thrift. Terry was the Maintenance Supervisor for over 30 years for Smithgall Woods State Park. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Anthony Schmitt.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Tiffany and Hunter Kipps, Demorest; brother, Stan Thrift, Atlanta; sisters, Wanda Foster, Cleveland; Connie Batey, Cumming; Doris Skelton, Sautee; grandson, Talon Kipps.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Monday, July 1, 2019 from 6-8 PM at Hardman Farms.

Martha Ann London, age 86 of Cleveland, passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2019.
Mrs. London was born on July 1, 1932, in White County, to the late Victor “Vic” and Parolee Lyons Cowart. She was a self-employed babysitter and a member of Blue Creek Baptist Church. Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Robert London; sisters, Ellen Franklin and Virginia London.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Garrison and Nita London, Jesup, Jerry and Cynthia London, Cleveland, and Michael and Georgia London, Cleveland; brother, Tommy and Sue Cowart, Cleveland; sisters, Barbara Thurmond, Janie Blackburn, Cheryl and Ross Mize, and Marie Allen; 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Friday, June 28, 2019 at the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. Chaplain Betty Ewing will officiate. Interment will follow at Blue Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Cleveland Funeral Home announces that Helena Haug, age 83 of Cleveland, Georgia passed away on Monday, June 10, 2019 at Gateway Nursing Health & Rehab. A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 13 from 3pm – 6pm at Cleveland Funeral Home. A service will follow in the same location with Father Scott Kidd officiating.
Helena was born in Thessaloniki, Greece on December 16, 1935 to her late mother, and her late father, Giorgos Makridis. Later in life, she met and later married Wolfgang Haug. In 1998, Helena and her loving husband bought a “Mountain Home” in Cleveland. They loved the area so much, they decided to permanently relocate from Florida to Cleveland only two years later, in 2000. Helena was a wonderful Wife, Mother, Stepmother, Grandmother, Sister and Best Friend. She spent her adult life right by Wolfgang, “Willie’s” side as a Homemaker. She always had a passion for gardening, cooking, sewing, and watching birds. Helena was of the Greek Orthodox Faith and was a member of St. Philothea Greek Orthodox Church in Watkinsville, Georgia.
In addition to her husband, Wolfgang “Willie” Haug, Helena is survived by two children; Margaret (Louis) Barbarite of Long Island, New York and John Giannini, also of Long Island, New York. Stepdaughter, Patricia (Jerry) Williams of Dothan, Alabama. Sister, Anna Makridou. Brother, Costa Makridis. Grandchildren; Brittany Barbarite and Nicholas Barbarite, both of Long Island, New York. She also leaves behind many other relatives and friends scattered about in Greece.
The family would like to thank the staff at Gateway Health and Rehab for all of their hard work with Helena and making her stay there as comfortable as possible. Flowers will be accepted for the services.

Mr. Percy Frank “Trey” Martin III, age 46, of Clarkesville, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2019.
Mr. Martin was born in Mobile Alabama to Frank and Joan Martin, but raised in Daphne, Alabama. He graduated from McGill-Toolen High School in Mobile, Alabama, and attended the University of South Alabama. Mr. Martin volunteered with the White County Humane Society and was an avid Alabama Crimson Tide Fan. He was an active member of AA and attended Helen Presbyterian Church. Mr. Martin enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, and was an avid animal lover.
Survivors include parents, Frank and Joan Martin, Clarkesville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Allison and Steve Boykin, Clarkesville, and Tara and Seth Morrison, Charlottesville, VA; nephews, Graham Morrison, Julian Morrison; nieces, Cecelia Morrison, and Amelia Morrison; aunts and uncles, Judy and Steve Sholtis, Kathy and Keith Acton, Jennifer and Mike Plaskett, Ann and Don Fuller, Kay Martin, and Cecelia Martin; and baby dog, Rosie and many loving cousins.
Funeral services are scheduled for 3 pm Sunday, May 19, 2019, at Helen Presbyterian Church. Dr. Roe Callaway Jr. will officiate with Allison Boykin delivering the eulogy. Interment will follow in Helen Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2-3 pm Sunday at the church prior to the service.

Billy Lewis Adcock, age 81 of Clarkesville, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2019.
Mr. Adcock was born on June 13, 1937, in Cassville, Georgia, to the late Bradley and Ruby Lewis Adcock. He was retired from AT&T and was the owner and operator of Bavarian Miniature Golf in Helen, Georgia. Billy graduated from Cass High School in 1955 and later served 2 years in the United States Air Force. In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by two infant children.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Rosalind Moore Adcock, Clarkesville; brother and sister-in-law, Ernest Bradford “E.B.” and Nancy Adcock, Cartersville; sister, Jean Adcock Curran, Jasper; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Saturday, May 18, 2019, at the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Dennis Turner will officiate. Interment will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens at 2:00 P.M. Saturday following the funeral service.
