CLEVELAND, Ga. – Randall Townley has announced his candidacy for Probate Judge of White County. Running as a Republican, Townley has many years of experience in city and county government.
He served as an elected school superintendent in Dawson County for two terms and was also an appointed school superintendent in Towns County. In addition, he was the Fire Chief and the EMS Director in Dawson County, as well as working as a Sheriff’s Deputy and a detention officer in that county.
In the City of Cleveland, Townley was employed as Code Enforcement Officer for 2 ½ years. His work history also includes teaching, coaching, working in the area of child passenger safety (child safety restraints) and adult occupant safety (seat belts, etc.). He was a consultant for Safe and Drug Free Schools through Pioneer RESA as well as coordinator for the Northeast Georgia Rural Roads safety initiative.
He is actively involved in his church, White Creek Baptist, and has held several offices in the White County Gideon Camp, where he has been a member for many years. He has also held leadership positions in White County Injury Prevention (formerly Heart of Gold Pilot Club), and has served on the Board of Directors for Safe Kids of Georgia. He currently is an active member of the Hallco Credit Union Board of Directors.
In addition to his professional and civic activities, Townley owns and operates TNT Simmental Farm, a cattle farm where he raises fullblood Fleckvieh Simmental cattle. He enjoys working with the cattleband also provides animals for youngsters in the area who wish to show cattle as 4H or FFA projects.
