WHITE COUNTY, Ga. — White County officials continue to assess damages from the flooding on Thursday, February 6th.  These assessments will continue through next week.  Public Works and EMA will be assessing damages and compiling data for submission to Georgia Emergency Management Agency as part of a statewide assessment.

All roadways within White County have been reopened with the exception of Sandy Flats Road between Far Winds and the Lumpkin County Line.  This roadway will be closed until further notice for major repairs.  See attached photo.

Sandy Flatts Road remains closed.

Other roadways may have places that will need repairs, however, they are passible.  Caution is recommended if you are traveling a roadway with suspected damage.

One business was closed on Thursday due to a sink hole that developed behind the building.  This caused damage to outside of the building and some of utilities support the building.  Anytime Fitness at 1801 Hwy 129 South, Cleveland is the business affected.  See attached photo.
