CLEVELAND, Ga. — Brandon Dixon, 22 of Cleveland, has been charged with simple battery, following a domestic violence incident on Oakwood Court in Cleveland on May 21.

According to the arrest report, Officer Sarah Emery of the Cleveland Police Department reported to the residence in reference to a verbal domestic at 7:15 p.m. where she met with Dixon’s father, Gary Dixon, 55. He stated his son had been staying with him since his release from jail and had asked for money. When he refused, he said his son began arguing and cursing at him. He ordered his son to leave and, when he refused, the father called 911.

The report stated Brandon Dixon fled before police arrived, but returned at approximately 10:51 p.m. and began arguing again. During the argument, Brandon Dixon’s brother Cody went into his brother’s room and found their father’s gun. He then brought it to their father. When Brandon attempted to take the gun, he struck his father on the arm.

When officers returned to the residence, they found Brandon Dixon hiding behind a white Jeep near some woods and arrested him. Officers also learned that there was a statement from the court ordering him to stay at least 500 feet from his father.
