CLEVELAND, Ga. – Mitch Simpson, a well-known car dealership owner, has been charged with three felony counts of theft by conversion.
According to press release by Capt. Rick Kelley, of the White County Sheriff’s Office, Simpson was taken into custody by state officials Tuesday (March 26) after the Georgia Department of Revenue filed the charges.
Simpson was arrested after customers complained that his White County dealership – Mitch Simpson Motors — closed suddenly, without providing paperwork for their purchases that would allow them to obtain tags.
The investigation is continuing.
