Dr. Hubert Ellis (Bud) Crocker, Jr., age 83, of Sautee, passed away Monday, June 4, 2018 from his residence.
Dr. Crocker was born in Bridgeport, Alabama to the late Hubert Ellis Crocker Sr. and Louise Childers Crocker. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by son, Hubert Ellis “Chip” Crocker III and daughter, Kaye Wilson. Dr. Crocker was a retired dentist.
Survivors include, wife, Peggy Crocker, Sautee; son and daughter in law, Richard Allen (Rick) and Julie Crocker, Milner, GA; daughter and son in law, Karen and Dee Seabrook, Mt. Pleasant, SC; daughter, Lisa Bringuel, Gulf Shores, AL; daughter, Kari Hiers, Flowery Branch, GA; and 9 grandchildren.
At Dr. Crocker’s request, there will be no services at this time.

Joseph Benjamin McGinty, Jr.: Obituary

Joseph Benjamin McGinty, Jr., age 85 of Hiram, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, March 25, 2018.
Mr. McGinty was born on June 1, 1932, in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Joseph Benjamin McGinty, Sr. and Jean Greear McGinty (affectionately known as Miss Jean). He was a retired executive for the Coca-Cola Company to whom he remained loyal. Joe graduated from the University of Georgia and was a lifetime Bulldog fan. Mr. McGinty was also a veteran of the United States Air Force having served during the Korean War. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife and mother of his daughter, June Marcell McGinty.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Betty Jean (Bee Jee) McGinty and Gene Arthur Pound, Jr., Hiram, Georgia; former wife, Mary McLanahan-McGinty and her children, Billy Colley, Margaret Hart, and their children; beloved cousins and numerous other family members also survive.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 31, 2018 at The Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Yonah View Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 2:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home.

Mr. Clinton Floyd Swain, Jr., age 47, gained his wings on July 23, 2018.
Mr. Swain was born in Hall County and was preceded in death by mother, Hazel Davis. He enjoyed motorcycles with his friends and was self employed as a floor installer.
Survivors include son and his girlfriend, Kyle Swain and Amanda Wheelis, Cleveland; father, Clinton Floyd Swain, Sr., Gainesville; sister and brother in law, Tammy and Larry Dyer, Cleveland; brother and sister in law, Christopher and Ashley Swain, Ohio; nieces and nephews, Terry Heddings and Chris Rogers, Cleveland, and Alex and Crissy Dyer, Cleveland; and several great-nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 11am-8pm Thursday at the funeral home. A private service will be held at a later date.

Rev. Newton Jackson, Jr., age 88 of Cleveland, passed away on Monday, August 28, 2017.
Mr. Jackson was born on July 30, 1929, in Cleveland, Georgia, to the late Newton Jackson, Sr. and Emma Wooten Jackson. Junior was a member of Mossy Creek Baptist Church and was a pastor at Northside Baptist Church in Cornelia for 7 years and also pastored in Utah for 16 years. Mr. Jackson was a veteran of the United States Air Force and previously worked for Union Pacific Railroad as a foreman. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Jackson; brother, Rondal Jackson; and sister, Alvastine Moore.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Robyn Jackson, Cleveland; daughter, Lena Jacobsen, Kearns, UT; daughter and son-in-law, Christine and Larry Beebe, Kearns, UT; grandchildren, Beth Kolleman, Ryan Beebe, Korey Jacobsen, Todd Jacobsen, Shelbie Jackson, Amber Murphy, Dasha Somer; 23 great grandchildren; sisters, Reba Alexander, Jewanda Satterfield, and Annetta Alexander.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Friday, September 1, 2017 at the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Bryan Satterfield and the Rev. Milton Harris will officiate. Interment will follow at County Line Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. John Bowen officiating.

Dr. James Harvey Beall, Jr. : Obituary

Dr. James Harvey Beall, Jr, age 86, of Sautee Nacoochee, Georgia, passed away Friday, March 3, 2017 at NE Georgia Medical Center following a sudden, unexpected battle with cancer.
Dr. Beall was born in Carrollton, GA. on March 23, 1930. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Barbara, and mother and father Mary Carter Beall Wiley and James Harvey Beall, Sr. He attended Emory at Oxford from 1947 to 1949, and graduated from Emory University in 1951 and the Medical College of Georgia in 1955 with an M.D. degree. During a medical residency at Macon Hospital he met the love of his life, Barbara Mercer, on a blind date and they married in November of 1957. Dr. Beall served as a Navy doctor stationed in San Diego, California for two years; he was assigned to the Underwater Demolition Unit at the Navy Amphibious Base in Coronado. He then brought his wife and infant son home to Carrollton to establish a private family medical practice. After ten years and two more children, he returned to Emory University to specialize in psychiatry. He practiced psychiatry primarily in Athens, but also briefly in Milledgeville and Carrollton, before retiring and moving to Big Canoe and later to Sautee-Nacoochee. He was a Master Gardener, a voracious reader and researcher of all things interesting, and traveled with Barbara around the world, including many RV trips out west and to the coast. He was a dedicated and wonderful husband who was devastated by the loss of his wife of over 53 years; and a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was a faithful Christian who was an active member of Nacoochee United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his children: son and daughter-in-law Dr. James H. Beall III and Tami; daughter and son-in-law Vicki Leigh Beall Still and David; son and daughter-in-law Robert Carter Beall and Lisa; sister Mary Beall Creamer; brother-in-law Dennis Burnette (Mary Beth), sister-in-law Judy Snyder (Mike); grandchildren: Carter Randolph Still and wife Christina, Courtney Mercer Still, Erin Jessica Beall, Laura Leigh Beall, Victoria Dare Beall, Mary Grace Beall and great-grandchildren: Kayla Beall Still and Joseph Carter Still.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 10:30 am at Nacoochee United Methodist Church 1371 Highway 17, Sautee Nacoochee, Ga 30571. with the Reverend Erin Beall officiating. A reception-visitation will be held after the memorial service in the fellowship hall.

Dr. Claud Franklin Elliott, Jr., age 62 of Cleveland, passed away Saturday, January 7, 2017.
Mr. Elliott was born in Demorest to the late Claud Franklin and Anne McConnell Elliott. He was employed as a Physics Professor at the University of North Georgia for 33 years and was a member of Shoal Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include wife, Noreen Elliott, Cleveland; daughter, Sara Elliott, Warner Robins; sister and brother in law, Jan and Ray Turner, Soddy Daisy, Tennessee; sister and brother in law, Nancy and Dan Aiken, Helen; brother and sister in law, Tom and Kim Elliott, Cleveland; and brother, Bill Elliott, Cleveland.
Memorial services will be held at 2PM Tuesday, January 10, 2017 from Shoal Creek Baptist Church. The Rev. Stacey Dyer will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5 PM to 8PM Tuesday at the funeral home after the service.

Mr. James E. O’Keefe, Jr. : Obituary

James E. O’Keefe, Jr. was born Oct 17th 1945, he was killed running into a burning orphanage to save children, at least that’s what he’ll tell you. He is predeceased in death by his parents James E. O’Keefe, Sr. and Vera Gilvey O’Keefe and was born in New York. He spent his childhood years in New York and Miami. He attended Farragut Military Academy in St Petersburg, FL. Mr. O’Keefe volunteered and enlisted into the U.S. Army and later served in the Al National Guard 20th Special Forces Group and the 348th Calvary of the Ga National Guard.
He is survived by his daughter, Bonnie O’Keefe Lockwood, her husband Mat, his granddaughters Kathryn and Moira Lockwood, his sister, Gaye Roberts, her husband Bob, their four children and grandchildren. He is also survived by his first wife, Dean Loudermilk and several other wives, innumerable. Mr. O’Keefe was in manufacturing, and later became a personal trainer. Jim loved sky diving, scuba diving, running, and eating junk.
He died of emphysema and COPD, which prevented him from these activities, which made him cross. He was proficient in the use of four letter words in extremely creative arrangements. Anything of which he did not approve was “communist”. He hath more wit than hair. He loved life, lived it to the fullest, and died at age 71, which is no minor miracle and has surprised his friends greatly. His funeral service will be at Barrett’s Funeral home on Friday at 6 pm. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Wounded Warriors Project which his granddaughter sincerely hopes will help them to record better music for their commercials.

Allen Eugene Hauck, Jr., age 72 of Sautee, passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2016 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
Mr. Hauck was born on December 2, 1943, in Atlanta, Georgia, to the late Allen Eugene Hauck, Sr. and Irene Christie Hauck. Mr. Hauck was a journalist for the Atlanta Journal Constitution and was a huge Georgia Tech fan.
Survivors include his wife, Catherine Hauck, Sautee; brother and sister-in-law, Christie and Melissa Hauck, Nashville, TN; one niece and one nephew; grand nieces, grand nephews and many cousins also survive.
There are no services planned at this time.
