Lynn Marie Johnson, age 60 of Cleveland, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, July 17, 2019.
Mrs. Johnson was born December 30, 1958 in California to the late George Jones and Mary Summers Jones. Lynn was a very active member of Cleveland Worship Center, a place where she loved to worship Christ. Lynn’s passion was telling people about Jesus and leading them to Salvation. She was a member of the ECO Rotary Club in Duluth, MN. Lynn loved the outdoors and traveling, especially with her husband visiting various cities across the United States. She loved her family especially her grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Katherine Marie Jones.
Survivors include her husband of almost 7 years, Keith Johnson, Cleveland; son, Todd Aaron Johnson, West Hollywood, CA; son and fiancé, Jeremy Lars Johnson and Katherine Clement, Fort Worth, TX; daughter and spouse, Summer Rhea Johnson and Nikki Lea Griffiths- Johnson, Duluth, MN; grandchildren, Gabriel Logan Johnson, Lilly-Ann Morgan Johnson, Grayson Rhea Johnson; brother and significant other, Richard “Rick” Jones and Debbie Cabrera, Superior, WI; numerous extended family also survive.
Celebration of Life services are scheduled for 1:00 PM Saturday, July 20, 2019 at Cleveland Worship Center. Pastor Marc Turner will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Friday at the funeral home and again on Saturday from 12-1 PM at Cleveland Worship Center prior to the service.

Henry Turk, age 87, of Cleveland, passed away Saturday, June 29, 2019.
Mr. Turk was born October 28, 1931 in Jackson County to the late John Herman Turk and Dora Fay Reed. He was a long-time member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, the owner of Turk’s store for 40 years, and member of Yonah Lodge #382 F&AM. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by, sisters, Mary Lou Turk, Virginia Looper, brother, J.C. Turk.
Survivors include his daughters, Pam Garrett, Cleveland; and Madge Skelton (Ronnie) Cleveland; son, Wayne Turk (Rhonda) also of Cleveland; grandchildren and their spouses, Marty and Amanda Garrett, Amanda and Jeremy Sapp, Subrena Turk, Levi Turk as well as his great grandchildren, Isaac Black, Anna Grace Garrett and Matthew Garrett. Mr. Turk is also survived by sisters Blanche Martin, Flowery Branch; Dorothy Wilburn, Flowery Branch; Betty Beck, Flowery Branch; and brother, John H. Turk Jr. Flowery Branch.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00pm, Tuesday, July 2, 2019 from Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. The Rev. Ronnie Dockery, Rev. Matt Pruitt, and Rev. Chad Dale officiating. Mr. Turk will lie in state at the church from 1:30 pm until the funeral hour. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Marvin Franklin Beasley, age 95 of Cleveland, Georgia passed away on Wednesday June 26, 2019. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at 2:00 at the Bridge Church in Cleveland. A visitation will be held on the same day, from 11 am – 2 pm, also at The Bridge Church, located at 607 Hulsey Road, Cleveland, Georgia 30528. The service will be officiated by Rev. Patrick Ballington, Rev. Cheryl Kennedy, and Rev. Jeff Groves. Interment will follow at Gateway Cemetery.
Marvin was born on April 25, 1924 in Dunn, North Carolina to the late James Beasley and the late Vivian Weeks. He and his loving wife of many years, Marcella Beasley, moved to Cleveland in 2006. Mr. Beasley was an active member of The Bridge Church where he served for years as an Elder, Lay Minister, and also as the head of the Bridge Senior Ministry. He had previously pastored at Open Door in Iowa. Marvin always enjoyed Christmas time, when he would take on the task of transforming himself into one of Santa’s very special helpers in Helen.
In addition to his parents, Marvin is preceded in death by daughter, Patsy Pearce; Siblings, Stacy Beasley, Robert Beasley, Victoria Barefoot, Callie Adcox, and Hazel Cook; Grandson, Paul Aaron Wilkins; Great Grandson, Hunter Lane Keel.
He is survived by his wife, Marcella Leonard Beasley; Children, Alice (Pastor Paul) Wilkins of Sneads Ferry NC, Pam (Dean) Burnette of Dunwoody GA, Debbie (Kevin) Gatlin of Moran WY, and Peggy (John II) Wilson of Youngsville NC; 12 Grandchildren; 28 Great Grandchildren; 4 Great – Great Grandchildren; He is also survived by his dear friend and wonderful neighbor JT Trammel.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations in memory of Marvin be made to the youth ministry at The Bridge. Donations can be made payable to The Bridge Church – please note that the donation is in memory of Marvin Beasley.

Mr. Foster is predeceased in death by his brother Chris Foster.
He is survived by his loving wife Jannie Marchbanks. His sister Donna Newton and brothers Paul Reece, Earl Foster, and Kenny Foster. Mr. Foster has one son Mark Anthony Foster Jr. and four daughters Tracey Foster, Laura Brant, Christie Marchbanks, and Marlana Vasquez. Eight grandchildren Taylor Rickett, Madison Rickett, Samantha Garini, Nicole Emerson, Skye Brant, Dylan Vasquez, Ashley Vasquez, and Katie Wadsworth. Gregory Allen, “SKIP”, Cathey, 70, passed away Friday, May 17, 2019 following a brave battle against pancreatic cancer.
Skip was born January 22, 1949, in Cleveland, and he was a lifelong White County resident. Skip was a 1966 graduate of White County High School, and attended Truett McConnell College. He was a member of Center Baptist Church in Robertstown, Georgia.
Skip was an entrepreneur, and was self-employed. With an over 50 year career, primarily in food service, he fed thousands of locals and visitors. Some of his former restaurants include Granny’s Cupboard, Helen, and Creekside Deli, and The Corner Grill in Cleveland. Aside from his good homemade food, and clean restaurants, he was well known as a classic car enthusiast, and a man who never met a stranger. He restored and sold many cars over the years, and made friends with many who shared his hobby.
Skip was preceded in death by his parents, Ross and Doris Ruth Cornell Cathey. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Judy Dean Cathey, son, Jeremy (Kelly) Cathey, and two grandchildren, Grayson and Paisley Cathey, all of Cleveland. He is also survived by two brothers, Skeet Cathey (Beth), Jefferson, and Jeff Cathey (Zulene), Sautee.
The family extends love and thanks to the many friends and former employees who have reached out to them during this time. Your support and prayers have been felt by all of us.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 PM Monday, May 20, 2019 at The Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Gary Heffner and Rev. Michael Wilkes will officiate. Interment will follow in Gateway Memory Park with Mr. Baylon Mitchell officiating.

Mr. Hugh Thomas Blackburn, age 78, of Sautee-Nacoochee, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2019.
Mr. Blackburn was born in White County to the late Thomas Hester and Bonnie Brown Blackburn. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother and sister-in-law, Mack “Bud” and Pat Blackburn, and sister, Euzella Blackburn. Mr. Blackburn served in the US Air Force and will receive military honors. He was a member of the Shriners, was a Mason, and served on the White County Recreation Board. Mr. Blackburn worked at the Cleveland Post Office and was the owner and operator of Blackburn Construction. He was a member of Crescent Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include wife, Janie Blackburn, Sautee-Nacoochee; daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Jonathan Thompson, Gainesville and Victoria and Denver Truelove, Cleveland; son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Tina Blackburn, Cleveland; grandchildren, Justin Thompson, Morgan Blackburn and fiance AJ Vandiver, Josie Thompson, Dallas Truelove, Cheyenne Truelove, and Branson Truelove; and many other relatives.

Mr. Harless Richard Harkins, age 75, of Cleveland went home Tuesday, February 26, 2019.
Richard was born in Habersham County to the late Thomas Harkins and Mildred Turner. He retired from NOK to continue his love of farming. Richard became a caretaker to everyone he met.

Alice Waldroup Hilton, age 95, passed away on February 4, 2019. Mrs. Hilton had been living with her daughter and son-in-law in Lawrenceville, GA for the last five years due to failing health. Prior to that, she resided at her home of more than 70 years in Sautee, GA, which was where she truly longed to be.
Mrs. Hilton was born February 19, 1923, in Hayesville, NC., the second of ten children born to Herbert Wilkerson Waldroup and Bernice Henson Waldroup of Franklin, NC. She was married to James Rex Hilton on January 18, 1944, in Canton, Ohio. After living in Ohio for several years, they relocated back to Georgia upon the birth of their first child. Mrs. Hilton was a member of Community Baptist Church, Sautee, GA and later became a member of Harvest Christian Church, Clarkesville, GA. She was always active in her community and especially enjoyed all the activities she participated in with her church family. Mrs. Hilton will be remembered for her kindness as well as her outgoing and loving personality. She has blessed all her family and friends with her grace, perspective on life, love, wisdom and most especially her legacy of faith and dependence on God. She will be remembered by all her family for the fierce love she gave to them all.
Mrs. Hilton is survived by her daughters, Jennifer Pharris and son-in-law Mitchell Pharris of Sautee, GA and Ruth Hilton Connor and son-in-law Bill Connor of Lawrenceville, GA; grandson, James Chad Hilton and daughter-in-law Amy Hilton, Cleveland, GA; sister, Virginia Waldroup Cooper of Winder, GA; sisters-in-law, Lelia Waldroup of Hayesville, NC and Shirlene Waldroup of Hayesville, NC; as well as a multitude of grandkids, great grandkids, nephews and nieces.
Mrs. Hilton was preceded in death by her husband, James Rex Hilton; sons, Michael and Ralph Hilton; and grandson, Kevin Hilton, all of Sautee, GA. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Gladis Waldroup Wilson of Franklin, NC; brother, Harold Waldroup of Hayesville, NC; sister, Glenna Waldroup Monkus of Nichols, GA formerly of Oakwood, GA; sister Meryl Waldroup Monkus of Blue Ridge, GA; brothers, Coy and Roy Waldroup of Franklin, NC, Brance Waldroup of Hayesville, NC, and Horace Waldroup of Franklin, NC.

Mrs. Palmer was born October 11, 1941 in White County to the late Wilbun and Bertha West. Janette was the Co-Owner of Palmer Trucking and was retired from Talon and later Babyland General. She was a lifelong member of Cleveland Congregational Holiness Church and had recently been attending Shoal Creek Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William Ross Palmer, son, Lamar Herschel Palmer, sisters, Kathy Howard, Polly Hendrix, Eva Harper, Rosie Crowe; brothers, Hoyt West, Roy West, T.J. West, Eddie West and Buddy West.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Ellen Palmer, Cleveland; grandson and wife, Nick and Meredith Palmer, Cleveland; great grandchildren, Cash Palmer, Braxton Palmer; brother, Robert West, Clarkesville.

Kenneth Wayne Beard, age 83 of Cleveland, passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2019.
Mr. Beard was born on November 1, 1935, in Bearden, Arkansas, to the late Roscoe and Margaret Beard. Kenneth was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He and Judy McIlveene were married on June 6, 1958 and celebrated 60 years of marriage. Mr. Beard worked for a poultry company where he was transferred to Salt Lake City, Utah, Columbus, Indiana, and finally settled in Georgia in 1975. He worked for Lumpkin County Park and Rec where he retired in 1975. Kenneth loved sports and coached baseball and softball for many years. He has taught many children how to play ball.

Marcia Crowley Price, age 78, died peacefully at home with family on January 20, 2019. She was born May 9, 1940 in Brooklyn, NY and raised in Atlanta by parents John J. and Elizabeth Crowley.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her sister, Audrey Crowley Hancock.
While in high school at Christ the King HS in Atlanta she met her future husband, John P. (Jack) Price, Jr., at a Georgia Tech fraternity event. They were married in 1959 and would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in May.
Marcia was a Pre- K teacher, talented artist, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend to everyone she met. She played a mean game of ALTA tennis and was a devoted Yellow Jacket fan.
Her courageous ten year battle with ovarian cancer introduced her to others on a cancer journey and an opportunity to be a supportive and much-loved companion. A natural leader, her generosity of spirit was infectious and effective. In Atlanta, Stone Mountain, Gainesville, and Highlands NC she was widely known and admired.
Survivors include her husband, daughters and sons in law Mary Catherine (Cathy) Price Carson (John), Lawrenceville; Ann Marie Price Young, Greenville SC; Judith Emily (Judy) Price Hendrix (Steve),Lilburn; and Audrey Patricia (Tricia) Price Floyd (Gary), Hoschton; grandchildren, Haley Bond (Justin), Cameron Carson, Mallory Hendrix, Alex Hendrix, Sean Floyd, and Samantha Floyd.
A Celebration of Life Mass is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 26, 2019 at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Cleveland, GA with internment immediately after in the Church Columbarium. A reception will follow in the Parish Hall.
