Warriors Use a Big 2nd Half to Stomp the Raiders

The Warriors secured their first win of the year after a big 27-point 2nd half to run away from Habersham Central 34-6. Tripp Nix connected with WR Vondre Nelson on a big 54-yard touchdown pass to open the scoring, but outside of that big play, neither team could find their footing on offense. White County took a 7-3 lead into the half. Nix would find his stride in the third quarter as passing for two more touchdowns and RB Ryan Fowler would lead the way in the fourth quarter with two rushing touchdowns, one for 25 yards and one of 69. The Raiders would fail to cross the endzone in this one.
Team Notes
The Warriors displayed their balanced offense on Friday night as they finished with 198 yards in the ground game and 207 yards in the air. Nix had himself a night as he lit up the Raiders secondary. He finished 9/16 for 207 yards and three touchdowns. Fowler led the ground game for the Warriors finishing with 160 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries, averaging 10.7 YPC. Senior WR Cam Wilson finished with 103 receiving yards and a touchdown. Nelson would finish with 68 yards and a touchdown, while Isaiah Whitlow also caught a touchdown pass from Nix. Junior John Scott led the defense in tackles as he finished with 16, while Alex Johnson, Bryce Dockery, and Noah Williams also recorded double digit tackles. Scott also led the defense with two sacks.
As for Habersham Central, not a lot went right for them on either side of the ball. The Raiders recorded four sacks on Friday night and senior SS Carter Barnett led the team with 12 tackles. Habersham Central did not have offensive stats posted on Hudl or Maxpreps at the time of this posting.
Looking Ahead
White County is headed to Gainesville to take on the 0-1 Chestatee War Eagles. As for Habersham Central, they will be headed to Lawrenceville to face the 2-0 Central Gwinnett Black Knights.
White County Track Team Goes Nuclear At Sections, Sends Over 30 To State

Atlanta, GA- The White County Warriors Track team had a historic day at the 2023 3A Sectional track meet last week, as over 30 athletes qualified for the state championships. The Men’s relay teams were the talk of the day as the 4×100, 4×200, 4×400, and 4×800 all qualified for state, with the 4×100 and 4×400 teams taking first at sectionals.
Kendra Dye, Maci Shelnut, Ella Blair, and Cam Wilson all finished in the top three of their individual events, with Kendra Dye winning the Girl’s shotput.
