Hwy. 129 closed for two hours Friday following a two vehicle crash

WHITE COUNTY, Ga. – A two vehicle crash on Hwy. 129 south of Truelove Road closed the roadway for more than two hours Friday afternoon but no serious injuries reported.
According to the Georgia State Patrol accident report, a 2009 Honda Civic driven by 21-year-old Jordan Alexander of Cleveland crossed the centerline and ran head-on into a 2017 Freightliner tractor trailer driven by 41-year-old Jeffrey Laufer of Clayton.
It is suspected that Alexander fell asleep while driving. He was treated at the scene and not transported by White County EMS. He has been charged with failure to maintain lane. The driver of the Freightliner was not injured.
