East Jackson Pulls Away, Shuts Out White County 31–0

NICHOLSON, Ga. — White County’s search for their first win of the season will continue after falling 31–0 on the road to a red-hot East Jackson team Friday night.

The Warriors battled through a scoreless first quarter and nearly made it to halftime tied, but the Eagles broke through with less than a minute left in the second quarter on a touchdown pass from quarterback Drew Richardson to Branturan Callahan. That late strike gave East Jackson a 7–0 edge heading into the locker room.

The momentum carried into the third quarter, where the Eagles began to separate. Richardson and Callahan connected again on a deep scoring play, followed quickly by a long touchdown run from Deston Mitchell. A White County miscue on special teams set up a short field, leading to a 32-yard field goal that stretched the lead to 24–0.

Any hopes of a Warriors comeback were dashed in the fourth quarter when Richardson added a rushing touchdown to put the game out of reach.

White County (0–3) struggled to find consistency offensively and was held scoreless for the first time this year. East Jackson (4–0) continued its unbeaten start, relying on a balanced attack and opportunistic defense to control the game.

The Warriors will look to rebound next week when they host Pickens, while East Jackson will have a bye before facing East Hall in two weeks.
