Forsyth County EMT killed after ambulance collision

FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. – On Nov. 17, Gina Ayres, an EMT with Forsyth County Fire Department, was killed after she was in route to a call inside an ambulance when the ambulance was struck, resulting in a three-car accident.

The collision left four people with severe injuries and tragically caused Ayres fatal injures.

The Forsyth County Fire Department released the following statement after her passing, remembering her dedication and sacrifice that she and other first responders give.

“It is with a heavy heart that we announce the line-of-duty death of EMT Gina Ayres, from Central EMS. Gina was a beloved member of the Forsyth County public safety family having served the Forsyth County community as an EMT for many years.

Gina and her coworker were on-duty this morning when they were involved in a 3-vehicle accident where 4 people, including Gina, sustained varying injuries.

Her dedication and service is an example we wish to highlight and remember with the highest degree of dignity and honor.

Please keep Gina’s family, including her husband Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Sheriff Tony Skindzier and their two children, in your thoughts and prayers as they walk through this very difficult time.
