Stephens County Dominates the Warriors

Tripp Nix still managed to be productive, but ultimately the Indians would work their way to a big win, 53-14. This one was over in the first half as the Indians took a 44-7 lead into halftime. The crazy stat on this game is according to Maxpreps, Stephens County scored 53 points on just 270 yards and no defensive TDs. White County turned the ball over 5 times in this one and Stephens County forced two safeties.

Team Notes

Nix worked in this one again, leading this offense. He had 111 yards in the air and added another 43 yards on the ground, leading the rushing attack. He did however, throw 2 INT and fumbled the ball away. Kane Lowery led the team in receiving yards with 63, but he also fumbled the ball away. On the defensive side, they did force one fumble and limited the dynamic Indians offense to just 270 yards.

As for Stephens County, Ben Stowe had a decent game throwing 10/20 for 213 yards and 3 TDs. Javin Gordon added 4 rushing TDs and 56 yards on the ground. Senior Cam’ron Lacy hauled in all three TD passes from Stowe and finished with 4 receptions and 96 yards. The defense did its job really limiting Nix and the rest of thee Warriors offense.

Look Ahead

Stephens County will head into their Bye Week sitting at 4-1 and then will open up region play at Monroe on 09/30. As for White County, they will also enter their Bye Week with a huge region game with Dawson County on the horizon.
