BOC approves rezoning for new single-family homes near Chimney Lakes

WHITE COUNTY, Ga. — The Board of Commissioners unanimously approved Roger London and Judy Dunagan’s request to rezone 24.93 acres off Old Henry Nix Road near the Chimney Lakes Subdivision from A-1 Agriculture Forestry to R-1 Single Family Residential at Monday’s work session and called meeting.

The purpose for the rezone is to build 19 single-family residences in the short-term and 132 in the long term. The homes are expected to be priced in the $300,000 + range.

Commissioners also approved three new land use applications for the purpose of entering the county’s short-term rental program. The properties are located in Sautee Nacoochee at 4298 Hwy. 356, 28 Hawks Bluff Lane and 30 Hawks Bluff Lane.

The Board unanimously approved William Frank Rogers’ application for property tax release on his home at 317 Partin Road in Cleveland was destroyed in January 2021 and is uninhabitable.

The White County Convenience Center will have new hours starting Nov. 16, 2021.The following hours will apply:

Monday, Thursday and Sunday the center will be closed. On Tuesday, Wednesday it will be open from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Saturday hours are from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.
