Controversial nuisance ordinance back on Board of Commissioners agenda

WHITE COUNTY, Ga. — The Board of Commissioners will present a proclamation in honor of Truett McConnell University’s 75th anniversary when it meets Monday (June 7) at 4:30 p.m. in the County Administration Building.

Commissioners also will discuss an intergovernmental agreement (IGA) with City of Cleveland officials regarding fire services. Other items on Monday’s agenda include:

  • The county’s proposed nuisance ordinance;
  • The land use application filed by Larry Adams to redistrict 54.62 acres located at Claud Sims Road in Cleveland from A-1 (Agriculture Forestry) to R-1 (Residential Single-Family);
  • The land use application filed by Melanie Morton and Maria Hurtado to request a conditional use permit on .39 acres located at 7653 Hwy.75 Alt. in Helen. Proposed use is to be placed into the short-term rental program;
  • The land use application filed by Russell Pruitt to redistrict 3.97 acres located at 673 Paradise Valley Road in Cleveland from C-1 (Community Commercial) to R-1 (Residential single-family);
  • A funding request by White County Chamber of Commerce President Beth Truelove for Fy 2021-22;
  • The bid for weed control and fertilizer treatments for Asbestos Road Park fields, Yonah Preserve ballfield complex and Tesnatee Park sports complex;
  • Approval of the FY 2022 contract with Legacy Lin for Nutritional Program Services at the White County Senior Center;
  • The bid for road striping contract under the 2021 Georgia Department of Transportation Local Maintenance and Improvement Grant;
  • A monthly financial status presentation by Jodi Ligon.
