Helen woman is charged with vehicular homicide

HELEN, Ga. — Nancy Tafel, 64, of 319 Rosen Strasse in Helen has been charged with vehicular homicide and failure to yield while turning left following a two-vehicle accident on Aug. 6 at 6287 Hwy 129 South in White County.

Coroner Ricky Barrett advised Corporal Brantley of the White County Sheriff’s Office that the driver of the other car Min Soo Kim, 71, passed away at approximately 5:15 a.m. on August 27 as a result of injuries sustained in the accident.

Brantly obtained warrants signed by Judge Corey Hyde for failure to yeld while turning left and homicide by vehicle, then made contact with Tafel, advised of her arrest and transported her to the White County Detention Center.
