BOC to discuss short term vacation rentals Thursday
News January 16, 2019
CLEVELAND, Ga. –The White County Board of Commissioners and White County Planning Commission will hold a Joint Called Meeting Thursday, (Jan.17) at 7:30 a.m. to discuss a policy for short term vacation rentals in the unincorporated area of White County.
The number of applicants for short term vacation rentals has risen dramatically in the last year and currently R3 is the only zoning classification that permits such rentals. Residents whose property is not zoned R3 must petition the county for a conditional use permit and submit to two public hearings.
At Thursday’s meeting commissioners will discuss how to make the process easier and make sure they are doing what is best for the county as a whole.
