CLEVELAND, Ga. – Deputies with the White County Sheriff’s Office were conducting a routine traffic check at the intersection of Post Road and Cooley Woods Road at approximately 12:30 p.m. Tuesday when Richard Lee Davis refused to stop and, instead led officers on a short, but dangerous chase.
Officers attempted to box him in near Truelove Road when he slammed on his brakes, causing one of the patrol cars to crash into him and then turned into the other patrol car, wrecking it. No was injured in the crash and Davis was taken into custody without further resistance.
White County Sheriff Neal Walden said, “He had a felony warrant out of Hall County and we have charged him with aggravated assault, felony obstruction, possession of methamphetamine, reckless driving and long list of other charges.”
