Mrs. Estelle Duckett Jarrard, age 101 of Cleveland. Mrs. Jarrard passed away Monday, December 26, 2016. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00am, Thursday, December 29, 2016 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Wayne Turk and Rev. Keith Allison officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery in Dahlonega. Mrs. Jarrard was born in Lumpkin County on April 21, 1915. She was a homemaker and co owner of Carter’s Service Center with her late husband Carter Jarrard. She was widely known for her love of gardening and especially her ability to grow some of the most beautiful flowers in the area. She was a longtime member of Corinth Baptist Church but had attended Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church for a number of years. Mrs Jarrard will be remembered as a strong and faithful woman who worked hard; even in her later years it would not be uncommon to see her working around her farm. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Jarrard is preceded in death by her granddaughter, Janet Holcomb; sisters, Blanche Duckett Gooch, Mae Duckett Seabolt and Zora Duckett Jarrard; brother, Rufus Duckett and son-in-law, Linton Holcomb.

Survivors include her daughter, Rita Jarrard Holcomb of Hartwell; grandchildren, Martha Byram (David) of Phoenix, AZ, Betty Holcomb Butler (Paul) of  Sugar Hill, GA,Jim Holcomb ( Cheryl) of Murfreesboro, TN and David Holcomb (Carolyn) of Royston, GA; great grandchildren include Bret and Christy Butler, Carter Holcomb and Davis Holcomb; great great grandchildren, Hudson Butler and Graham Butler. Mrs. Jarrard is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews as well as host of other relatives and many close friends. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5:00pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.

Flowers will be acknowledged, however it is requested that memorial donations be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place,  Memphis, TN 38105
