Advanced Voting for President Begins Monday

News

CLEVELAND, Ga. – Advanced voting in one of the most important presidential elections in recent times will get under way in White County Monday.

Chief Voter Registrar Lisa Manning said Friday, “We’ve been extremely busy and they are still coming in wanting to register.” Registration, however, ended Tuesday. Asked if she expected a record turnout, Manning said, “Oh yeah. People have been wanting to vote for president since the July primary. (Election Superintendent) Garrison Baker predicted a 70 percent turnout.” Manning said the previous high turnout was about 60 percent.

Advanced Voting hours will be from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Friday until Nov. 4. There will be one Saturday voting session on Oct. 29 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. All Advanced Voting will take place in the Mauney Building on Helen Highway.

Requests for absentee ballots should be mailed to 1241 Helen Hwy., Suite 210-A, Cleveland, Ga. 30528.
