White County Deputies Seize $16,000 in Illegal Drugs

CLEVELAND, Ga. Lars Prentice Johnson, 44, of Murphy, N.C. was arrested in White County last week and charged with trafficking methamphetamine.

Chief Deputy Bob Ingram said Johnson was stopped by White County deputies and officers with the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office (ARDEO) after deputies received a Be On the Lookout (BOLO) alert.

During a search of Johnson’s car, they discovered more than one pound of methamphetamine, valued at $16,000, in a concealed container.
White County detention center held without bond

According to an ARDEO press release, the primary operating points of Johnson’s alleged meth trafficking organization was in Hall, Towns and White counties and parts of North Carolina.

Johnson was booked into the White County Detention Center and bond has not been set.
