Gail Anderson Longwell: Obituary

Obituaries
Gail Anderson Longwell

July 14, 1936 – November 04, 2018

Missy Gail Longwell, age 82 of Cleveland, passed away on Sunday, November 4, 2018.

Mrs. Longwell spent 35 years associated with SunTrust Bank, as a manager in the check processing center, working 1.5 to 2.5 million checks a day and received many commendations for her works. Following SunTrust, her basic nature to accomplish more in life, she rose from Sales Clerk to co-manager of Babyland General Hospital Profit Center gift shop located in White County across from Ace Hardware. In 2008, she helped Babyland move to its new location. On Cinco de Mayo 2003, via mutual friends Debbie and Robert Bowers (now retired in Oklahoma), Missy Gail met Bart Longwell. A romance slowly developed and on Valentine’s Day 2004, Bart and Gail were married. Both Bart and Gail publicly exclaimed that the past 15 years are the most serene and joyful chapters of their combined lives. Upon her death at 6:00 am November 4th 2018, the internet response was overwhelming. One highlight, Bart was surprised to see was a lone sympathy blessing from Hall of Fame pitcher Nolan Ryan. That was just one example of Missy’s nationwide reach.

Surviving Missy Gail is her loving husband Bart Longwell, who instead of grieving, is celebrating with his close friends of the Northeast Georgia Wounded Warriors. Also surviving are her children, Kelly Suzanne Terebo, Laurie Gail Duncan, Barry Richard Duncan, Wayne Norman Duncan, and Mark Bruce Duncan; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive. God Bless all the many acquaintances and friends Missy knows in White County (God’s Green Acres). Amen.

The family will receive friends from 2-6 pm Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at the Funeral Home.

An official beneficiary fund entitled “Missy Gail Four Paws” has been established at United Community Bank in Cleveland, Georgia 30528, in care of Ruth Chambers for the Smithgall Humane Society on the Helen Highway.
