Brayden Philyaw, age 8, of Cleveland, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 10, 2019, surrounded by his loving family.
Brayden was born on May 28, 2011 to Zach and Miranda Allison Philyaw. He was a third grade student at Mossy Creek Elementary School and attended Shoal Creek Baptist Church and The Cleveland Worship Center.
Our sweet Bray was full of life, never met a stranger, and had a hilarious sense of humor. He loved baseball, basketball and football. He adored his family, and wanted to be like his older brother Bryson, and loved God. He loved to read his Bible every night and his last log was in Acts about miracles. He loved hunting and fishing, being outside with his dad, and couldn’t get enough of the beach and camping. He grew up riding 4-wheelers and being a wild but adorable boy. He was the kindest kid, who was a friend to absolutely everyone.
He is preceded in death by paternal grandfather, Terry Philyaw, and aunt Cindi Philyaw.
Survivors include parents, Zach and Miranda Philyaw, Cleveland; brother and hero, Bryson Philyaw, Cleveland; maternal grandparents, Charles and Rebekah Allison (Nana and Pops), Cleveland; paternal grandparents, Holly and Rich Brannon (Honey and Boppa), Gainesville; uncle, Wesley Allison, Cleveland; uncle and aunt, Chad and Yvette Philyaw, Clermont; and numerous great aunts, great uncles, cousins, and other family members.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 P.M. Saturday, November 16, 2019 at The Bridge Church. The Rev. Marc Turner, Rev. Joe Vernon, and Rev. Marty Garrett will officiate. Interment will be at Shoal Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Lydia Jeanette Fuller White, age 73, of Cleveland, passed away Monday, November 11, 2019.
Mrs. White was born to the late Rev. John Fuller and Jeanette Fuller Light. She is also preceded in death by her sister, Sarah Talley. Mrs. White was a graduate of White County High School and was a retired school teacher with the White County School System, spending her career teaching at Old Nacoochee School, White County Elementary School and Jack P. Nix Primary School. She was a member of Cleveland First Baptist Church and was an avid tennis player, and loved walking and aerobics.
Survivors include husband of 51 years, Bill White, Cleveland; sister and brother-in-law, Martha and Hal Cason, Demorest; brother-in-law, Darrell Talley, Pineview, GA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11 A.M. Wednesday, November 13, 2019 from the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Dennis Turner and Rev. Hal Cason will officiate. Interment will follow in Gateway Memory Park.
The family will receive friends from 4-7 P.M. Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at the funeral home.

Barney Edward Thomas, 88 of Clermont, GA, passed away on November 3rd, 2019 surrounded by family. Barney was born on September 28, 1931 in Union County, GA. He was a US Army Veteran and a member of Alpharetta Masonic Lodge #235. Barney was retired from GM, Doraville, and has been farming since his retirement.
Barney is preceded in death by his parents, Joe Boyd and Lavonia, and his brother O’Neal. He is survived by his wife, Mary S. Leonard Charles Phillips, 70, of Cleveland, Georgia passed away on Saturday November 9, 2019 at his home surrounded by family and friends.
Leonard was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on July 8, 1949 to the late Wayne K. Phillips and Helene Bolden Phillips. He served in the Army and Air Force and completed a tour of duty in the Vietnam War and Dessert Storm. Leonard moved to Cleveland, Georgia after retiring from a career at the Police Academy in Columbia, South Carolina. He enjoyed hiking and helping hikers he met along the trail. Leonard attended church at Jesus ‘n Jeans Worship at The Cottage Winery in Cleveland, Georgia.
Leonard was preceded in death by his wife Shirley Hamby Phillips of Florida. He is survived by his children, Michele Phillips (Duanne Blackburn) of Cleveland, Denise Tannery of Florida; brother Wayne Phillips (Tina) of Oklahoma; sister Connie Phillips DeBruen of Oklahoma; grandchildren Kaleb Gouse, Kirsten Ciotti and Travis Patterson; and his beloved dog Emma.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday November 17, 2019 at noon at The Cottage Winery in Cleveland, Georgia.

Mary Frances Peace: Obituary
Obituaries October 23, 2019 , by Content AdminMary Frances Peace, 90, passed away in her home surrounded by loved ones on October 22, 2019.
She was born on August 20, 1929, to Charles H. Smith and Nelle Busha Smith. The last of her generation, she grew up in Stone Mountain, Georgia with her parents, and her seven sisters, Jesse Belle, Guynelle, Jeanie Mae, Geneva, Virginia, Charlette, and her two brothers, Robert and Warren (W.S.). Mary was the youngest of nine and became affectionately known as Penchy to many.
Eventually she moved to Decatur, Georgia where she met the love of her life, Charles (Charlie) Peace. They were married on May 25, 1946, at the ages of 16 and 18. They walked through married life together for 73 years, deeply in love, and always holding hands.
Mary had too many talents to list on a page and enjoyed so many things through the years. She loved to paint and sold many of her works. She loved to create poetry and authored many cherished poems. She loved to spend time on her computer, listening to music, creating family movies, and researching our family genealogy. Her best talent was loving her family and being a wonderful wife, Mom, and Mema.
She is survivied by and deeply missed by her loving husband, Charlie; by her daughter, Marshae Smith; and her two sons, Stehpen and Chad; by her daughter, Donna Runowicz and her husband Dave, and their daughter Inida Dover and her husband Adam, and by their two children Ava and Cooper.

Sadie Evelyn Flanigan, age 95 of Winder, (formerly of Cleveland, GA) passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at NGMC Gainesville.
She was born September 27, 1924 to the late Ellen Dewberry Bankston and Walton H. Bankston of Barnesville, GA.
Sadie was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Robert “Bob” Flanigan; brother, W.H. Bankston, Jr. She is survived by daughter, Patricia (Pat) and son-in-law, Greg Geis; sister, Virginia B. Clark; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, as well as her foreign exchange student ‘daughter,” Oya Erenli Sezer, of Istanbul, Turkey.
After completing college at GSCW in Milledgeville, Sadie began teaching high school English in Conyers, GA, where she met Bob on a blind date Halloween night 1945. Sadie and Bob moved away from Conyers and she taught also at Campbell High in Smyrna and Hewitt-Trussville in Trussville, Alabama.
After moving to Florida in 1966, Sadie began her second career as an editor for a publisher of medical and scientific books. This sparked an interest in medicine, and she began her third career working in hospitals.
After retiring from her job as Tumor Registrar at Holy Cross Hospital in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Sadie and Bob moved to Cleveland, in 1990, where they enjoyed an active ‘mountain’ life and loved to travel the country in the RV.
A private interment will be held in Barnesville, Georgia.

Mrs. Durfee was born on May 23, 1967, in Keene, New Hampshire, to Dorothy Paro Rule and the late Richard Rule. Lisa’s hobbies included thrifting and photography. She loved “Mickey and Minnie” and had worked at the Disney Store, as well as Walt Disney World Resort. Lisa was a member of Helen First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Victor Durfee, Cleveland; children, Kolby Durfee and fiancé, Cassandra Dispain , Kyana Durfee, Amera Durfee, and Adam Durfee; grandson, Malachi Mooney; mother, Dorothy Huber, Cleveland; sister, Melanie Amerillo; brothers, David Mooney and Chris Role; and mother-in-law, Patricia Durfee.
Memorial services are scheduled for 3:00 P.M. Sunday, September 15, 2019 at Helen First Baptist Church. The Rev. Jim Holmes will officiate.
