UPDATE: Man killed in Saturday crash identified

WHITE COUNTY, Ga. — The Georgia State Patrol Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team is assisting in the investigation of a fatal crash on Hwy. 115 in White County Saturday.
The crash occurred near Shenandoah Drive, between Black Road and Ga. 255 South when the driver of a 2007 Hyundai Elantra sedan was traveling east on Ga. 115 and the driver of a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck failed to maintain his lane, crossed the centerline, and struck the sedan head-on according to the Georgia State Patrol accident report.
The driver of the Hyundai who died at the scene has been identified as Robert Maynor. The driver of the truck was not hurt.

Cleveland man killed in single-vehicle crash on SR 75

WHITE COUNTY, Ga. – A 69-year-old Cleveland man was killed in a single-vehicle crash on SR 75 Saturday evening
According to the Georgia State Patrol accident report, William Scott Bentley, was driving south in a GMC Sierra when he failed to negotiate a curve, crossed the centerline, traveled about 150 feet off the east side of the highway and struck a tree.
An eyewitness said she was traveling north on SR 75 when she first observed the Bentley vehicle in the southbound land and that is suddenly turned and traveled directly in front of her before going off the roadway.
Alcohol is suspected to be a factor in the crash. According to the report, “Strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emitted from inside vehicle #1. Several Bud Light bottles observed in he back pocket of the front passenger seat. One Bud Light bottle observed between driver #1’s legs. One Bud Light bottle observed on the ground in close proximity to vehicle #1. All bottles were cold to the touch.
