White County Defense Leads Warriors Past North Hall

Despite being outgained by North Hall, White County came away with the 21-point rout to open the season, taking this one 35-14. Thanks to a 53-yard Pick 6 by junior Caysen Duvall and an 82-yard Scoop & Score by senior Colton Turner, the Warriors defense was able to aid the offense with the two defensive touchdowns. Unfortunately for the Trojans, they were unable to make up for their costly turnovers despite a great run game.

Team Notes

The Warriors were out-gained by North Hall, but the offense got the job done thanks to a solid performance from QB Tripp Nix. Nix had 128 total yards with a 35-yard passing TD to WR Cam Wilson and two TDs on the ground. It was the two defensive touchdowns that really opened this one up and the Warriors never looked back. Linebacker Trenton O’Kelly was the MVP on defense as he totaled 14 tackles including 4 TFLs and forcing a fumble.

North Hall’s run game was led by the Marsh/Ruth duo as the two combined for 180 yards and each added a rushing TD. QB Tanner Marsh played ok as he added 128 yards in the year, but he did throw the Pick 6 in this one and walked away with a 53.4 QB Rating in this one. Zeke Harris accounted for 10 tackles and led his team with 2 TFLs in this one while senior Britton Glover picked off Nix for the only Warriors turnover.

Look Ahead

White County will be guests to the Habersham Central Raiders (0-1) who fell in their Week 1 game, managing just a field goal vs Stephens County. North Hall will look to clean up the turnovers over the Bye week this week as they prepare to host the Dawson County Tigers (1-0) on September 3rd.
