WHITE COUNTY, Ga. — A 49-year-old Clermont man suffered second-degree burns Monday after he crashed his motorcycle on US Hwy. 129 at Tommy Cowart Road in White County. No other vehicle was involved in the accident.
According to a Georgia State Patrol report, Bruce E. Morgan’s 2001 Honda CBR motorcycle was engulfed in flames when they arrived at approximately 8:25 pm and Morgan was airlifted to the hospital.
Earlier in the evening, a Dawson County Sheriff’s Office deputy attempted to stop Morgan’s vehicle for no registration on Ga. 400 near the Lumpkin County line. The deputy experienced radio trouble; lost sight of Morgan’s motorcycle and broke off the chase.
Morgan, who was not being pursued at the time of the crash, will be charged with fleeing and attempt to elude and driving with a suspended license.
