Cleveland Council to set millage rate Monday

CLEVELAND, Ga. — The Cleveland City Council will hold its third and final public hearing on the FY 2020 millage rate Monday (Aug. 3) at 6:30 p.m. in the Cleveland Community Center, 342 Campbell Street. The county has called for keeping its millage rate steady at 10.75 mils

Council will also hold a public hearing on amending the city’s utility ordinance with regard to the discontinuance of service and adding a section 58-282 called Unbilled Metered City  Accounts Policy.

City Administrator Tom O’Bryant will present the bid on a waterline upgrade for council consideration as well as the Georgia Mountains Regional Commission on management agreement.

There will also be departmental reviews by Police Chief John Foster, Fire Chief Ricky Pruitt and City Attorney Grant Keene.
