WHITE COUNTY, Ga. – White County could become the latest in a growing number of counties to adopt a Second Amendment Sanctuary Ordinance when the Board of Commissioners meet in a combined work session and called meeting Monday at 4:30 p.m.in the County Administration Building.
Habersham County became the first in Georgia to adopt the ordinance. Since then Stephens, Banks, Chattooga and Gilmer have joined the movement and many other county governments are studying the idea.
Commissioners will also consider approval of a project list for 2020 county road resurfacing projects.
Brian Alexander has filed a land use application to redistrict 18.58 acres at 177 Marvin Miles Road from Agriculture Forestry District (A-1) to Residential Single Family District (R-1) commissioners will consider.
Dana Patterson has also filed a land use application for a conditional use permit on 1.04 acres on Hootenanny Hills Drive to be placed in the short-term rental program.
