Flash flooding already occurring in White County

CLEVELAND, Ga. –The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has extended the Flash Flood Warning for White County until 10 a.m.

As of 5:22 a.m. today, Doppler radar estimates and automated rain gauges indicated three to six inches of rain have fallen across the warned area in the last 24 hours, with locally higher amounts as high as eight inches. Flash flooding is already occurring.

Some locations that will experience flooding include Ceveland, Hiawassee, Helen, Unicoi State Park, Robertstown, Blue Mountain Shelter, Mossy Creek, Titus, Mountain Scene, Anna Ruby
Falls, Macedonia, Leaf, Smithgall Woods Conservation Area, Sautee and Qualatchee Lake.
