CLEVELAND — Another case of rabies was reported in the Sky Lake area of White County today. This is the fourth incident reported in the county this year.
According to a report from White County Environmental Health Services, a lady was bitten by a rabid cat she had been caring for. The cat was shipped to the Georgia Public Health Lab – Virology Section in Decatur and the results came back that the cat tested positive for rabies.
Positive alert signs have been posted in the area where the rabid cat was located. Information about rabies can be obtained at the Environmental Health Services office in Cleveland, located at 1241 Helen Highway, Unit 210 or call 706-348-7698.
