Mrs. Beatrice (Bea) Howard: Obituary

Beatrice (Bea) Howard peacefully left her earthly home on Thursday March 24, 2016. Bea was born and raised in eastern North Carolina, one of 17 children.

Bea shared many memories of growing up with her family. One of her favorite memories was singing with her sister in her home church of Haw Branch United Methodist Church, Richlands, North Carolina.

She moved to Dahlonega, Georgia in 1956. For many years she was a homemaker / military wife raising her children while Andy was serving in the U.S. Army. Later in her life she enjoyed working as a poll officer with Lumpkin County elections. She also worked in dietary services at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Her hobbies were gardening, sewing and yard sales.

Survivors are her husband of 61 years, Andre (Andy) Howard, daughter and son in law Wanda and Lamar Bryant of Cleveland Ga., Son and daughter in law Stanley and Diane Howard of Murrayville, Ga. Four grandchildren, Katie Brooke and Landon Varner, John and Amanda Bryant, Tyler and Kayla Howard, Betsy and Adam Palmer. Also 3 great grandchildren survive.

Funeral services are scheduled for 7:00 PM Monday, March 28, 2016 at The Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home, Cleveland, GA. Deacon Tommy Burns and Mr. John Bryant will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 2-5 PM Monday at the funeral home.

Interment will be at 12:00 Noon Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA.
