CLEVELAND, Ga. –An angry dispute over a neighbor walking her dog past her neighbor’s home led to a heated argument that resulted in a 65-year-old Cleveland man being charged with aggravated assault after he allegedly pointed a gun at his neighbor.

According to the incident report, John Nalley admitted pointing a gun at Kevin Phillips after Phillips and Kayla Abernathy argued with Nalley’s wife, Mildered, over her walking her dog on their property.

After arriving at the scene, White County Deputy Abercrombie immediately confiscated the weapon, a .22 caliber revolver, which was loaded and cocked.

Mildred Nalley said she was having an argument with her neighbor when her husband saw the commotion, grabbed his gun and came to the neighbor’s driveway. She said, Phillips bumped into her husband and that is when he pointed the weapon.

Nalley was arrested and transported to the White County Detention Center.
