CLEVELAND, Ga. – Deputies with the White County Sheriff’s Office arrested 47-year-old Sara “Dawn” Humphries following a domestic dispute at 9336 Duncan Bridge Road on Monday, July 30.
Humphries is charged with two counts of battery and two counts of cruelty to children after she allegedly beat her 23-year-old daughter Courtney Sovine and slapped her husband John Sovine in the face.
The incident took place at the residence of Gail McClellan, Courtney Sovine’s grandmother
According to the incident report, Humphries arrived at the residence and asked to see the Sovine’s infant daughter. An argument ensued between Courtney and Humphries. John Sovine tried to break up the argument when Humphries became violent.
Humphries allegedly grabbed Courtney by the hair and dragged her over the side of a couch and onto the floor where she continued to attack her. The fight was stopped and Humphries asked Matthew Sisk, a visitor at the residence, to take her home.
During the physical assault two children were present and witnessed the incident. There were two infants in the home during the altercation.
Humphries was arrested on a warrant on Aug. 5.
