Conservative LRA Meets in Helen Monday

HELEN, Ga. – Conservatives who feel betrayed by the Republican Party establishment and its elected officials who failed to repeal and replace Obamacare are rising up to form an alternative organization known as the Lanier Republican Assembly (LRA).

LRA leaders are holding a mass meeting Monday, Sept. 25 at the Holiday Inn Express, 8100 South Main Street in Helen, starting at 6:30 p.m. and all true conservatives are invited.

The group, which began forming at the end of July will represent most of Georgia’s 9th Congressional District, including Hall, Banks, Barrow, Dawson, Habersham, Jackson, Forsyth, Lumpkin, Madison and White counties. Meetings will rotate among the 10 counties.

The group is led by President Kimberly Pils, Vice President Stephanie Elder, Treasurer Noreen Cantor and Secretary Ana Adams-Wiley, all strong conservative leaders in their communities.

The group is not an official part of the Georgia Republican Party and, unlike the Republican Party, the LRA can endorse candidates in Republican primaries if members vote to do so.

Pils said the LRA will be a place for conservatives and Donald Trump voters who are frustrated by the lack of action in Congress, especially on health care.

The LRA is a member of the National Federation of Republican Assemblies: a grassroots, Republican organization of Reagan conservatives, who believe in limited government, lower taxes, free market capitalism, a strong defense, the right to life, and preserving the American dream for future generations.

Food will be served at Monday’s meeting. There will be elections for several positions, speeches by conservative candidates and a prize for the member who brings the most friends or family to sign up as a new member.

In an email, Pils said, “The LRA is a grassroots organization committed to getting conservatives elected to office at all levels of government, and working with our county Republican Parties to achieve their goal of a constitutional government.  We want to encompass the conservatives who are frustrated at the GOP. If you believe in small government, lower taxes, free market capitalism, a strong defense, the right to life, and Constitutional values, then the LRA is for you.”
